    Wow! Dynamite writing! The ongoing of Cole's life in San Fransisco with his daughter's family especially with his granddaughter his very heartwarming. With some very important events happening in his life that have been earned, meeting important people, to then have his life turned explosive in a way only that is extremely fashioned for the once Chicago writer. When his help is required by the FBI due to a 60's radical that has set off his psycho behavior from an article written 20 years previous by Cole what else is there to do? From San Fransisco to DC to Chicago to help his old friends and back to his new home in San Fransisco: will Cole be in time to stop a madman?

    This is the third book in the Cole Sage Mystery Series, and so far it is the best one yet. I love the way Michael Maxwell has his main character evolve and grow with each new book. At the beginning of this book Cole is playing his favorite after dinner game with his son in-law. How far would you go to protect your family? To many of us it seems like an easy to answer question. Until you are actually faced with the question in a life or death situation. At which point we , like Cole would have to face the question head on. We would soon realize that answer would be something that we would wrestle with for the rest of our lives. In this book an article that Cole wrote 20 years ago , comes back to haunt him. When an old 60’s radical wants to prove to himself that he is better than his mentor. He embarks on a mission to set off bombs in public places to bring attention to his cause. While his fight is with the government , he chooses Cole to be the witness and voice of his deadly game. As this terrorist keep upping the stakes. A larger and larger team of senior agents from the FBI is forced to get involved in the investigation and future capture of the antagonist. Since Cole is the contact point, they can’t do anything without him and he cannot do anything on his own. This Cole Sage Mystery book is a real nail biter to the end. I could not put it down once I started reading it . The stress of the situation keep you turning the pages, anxious to find out how it will turn out. I started the book one night after dinner, and finished it at four in the morning. I missed a little sleep , but it was worth it
